New York writer begins memoirs of rock legend Charlie Gracie
Hawkins + Company has signed New York writer and author Ron Sklar to provide literary representation as he joins with Philadelphia's rock legend, Charlie Gracie, Jr., to write the musician's memoirs. Charlie's life - from his first major hit, "Butterfly," in 1957 in the United States, through his rise to stardom in England and Europe and to the present, when at 72 years old he has returned to the studio to record another CD with the support of music greats including Graham Nash, has been an inspiration to many of the world's most famous musicians.
Ron is a Philadelphia native who now makes his home in Brooklyn. Since obtaining his Masters of English from Villanova University in Villanova, Pennsylvania, Ron has pursued writing as both a profession and hobby.
He currently is a staff writer for the popular webzine PopEntertainment.com, where his focus is on interviewing and presenting stories about celebrities from all avenues of entertainment. Some of his recent interviewees include Fabian, Darren Daulton, Lesley Gore and Christopher Knight. His recent writing has also appeared in such diverse publications as The Irish Emigrant, The Brooklyn Paper, Brooklyn Boom, The Parachutist, Philly Fit and Chelsea Now.
Ron is a Senior Writer & Editor for the new and rapidly growing website at Fabulmag.com, which he co-founded. Fabulmag.com provides behind-the-scenes and in-depth stories about models and the modeling business. The site is designed to assist the aspiring model, stylist, fashion photographer, makeup professional and others to better understand what it means to be a part of the modeling and fashion industries.
Ron notes that he has gained life experience for his writing career while working as a modeling and talent agent, marketing manager, copywriter, bartender, sales account executive and, most importantly, retail cashier!
