Community

At Hawkins + Company we are dedicated to community and giving of our time and talent to help others.  Through donations of pro bono services, financial assistance and by volunteering at special events, we involve ourselves with organizations that make lives better.

We also assist our corporate and individual clients in becoming involved with charitable efforts that further their own marketing or personal goals. We research groups and events to find the best match for our clients and develop optimal participation and support options, or we work with our clients to develop their own charity.

To further strengthen our commitment, we are developing our own charitable foundation that will be affiliated with the company.  Through this nonprofit organization we will be able to expand our reach and donate funds to projects that promote the improvement of our world.

Chewie, rescue puppy, found a new home and a new toy!
2009-2010
Animal Rescue and Support Causes

Chewie, seen here, is one of the lucky dogs in a rescue shelter who found a home.  A border collie and german shepherd mix, Chewie has found a home with love and a neighborhood of kids who think she's awesome.  She joins a home with another rescue dog, Dutchess, and is a friend of Raider, Laurie Hawkins' 12-year old SPCA rescue.

Other dogs remain in shelters, all across the country, and need homes as well.  Beginning on September 1, 2009 and continuing for one full year, Hawkins + Company will be supporting the important cause of helping the SPCAs, humane societies, rescue organizations and other groups find dogs and cats a new and loving home.  Dogs just like Chewie!

Komen for the Cure Breast Cancer 3-Day

Laurie Hawkins served as the Volunteer Coach for the 2006 and 2007 Philadelphia 3-Day Walks, managing the 100+ volunteers recruited to work at the Closing Ceremonies.  With the help of those men and women and the 10 extraordinary Volunteer Captains each year, the Walkers and Crew were able to enjoy their accomplishment in walking 60 miles.

Bux-Mont Pop Warner Challenger Team
The Pop Warner Challenger League

Thousands of young kids take to football fields each fall to play on a Pop Warner youth football team.  Many of those kids have made their way to the NFL, college and high school teams.  Some won't make it there but get the chance to play like everyone else, in the very special Pop Warner Challenger League.  These young players have physical and mental disabilities that might limit their ability in some ways, but they bring their smiles and big hearts and show off their stuff just as well.  Read about one special team in Pennsylvania.
